Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care to pediatric patients in a high-volume emergency department
• Collaborate closely with PICU, CVICU, NICU teams and hospitalists to manage complex cases
• Lead bedside teaching and supervise Pediatric, Emergency Medicine, and Family Practice residents
• Participate in training and didactic sessions for Pediatric ER fellows as desired
• Work with child life specialists and pediatric social workers to support holistic patient care
• Leverage full scribe coverage to optimize patient care and documentation efficiency
• Contribute to multidisciplinary case management and a collaborative clinical environment
• Support a physician-led culture focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Fellowship-trained in Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM)
• MD or DO degree with completed pediatric residency and PEM fellowship
• Comfortable practicing in a high-volume pediatric ED (~55,000 annual visits)
• Experience or interest in bedside teaching and supervising trainees
• Required: residency within the immediate local area
• Not accepting Locums candidates; visa sponsorship is not available

Education

• MD or DO with completed Pediatric Residency and Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in pediatric emergency care and high-acuity management
• Strong multidisciplinary collaboration skills with subspecialty teams
• Skilled in bedside teaching, resident supervision, and fellow education
• Familiarity with working alongside child life specialists and pediatric social workers
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume ED environment
• Comfort using and directing medical scribes to improve workflow
