Roles & Responsibilities

• Treat patients as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist, delivering hands-on care with compassion
• Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes in accordance with PT Board and facility policy
• Implement physician and therapist treatment plans and document treatment changes as required
• Assist in maintaining a safe, tidy, and functional treatment area including equipment upkeep
• Participate in patient care and rehabilitation conferences to support coordinated care
• Train and support restorative aides and nursing staff with caregiver training and maintenance programs
• Lead and participate in in-service training programs to uplift the whole team’s skills
• Communicate patient progress, problems, and plans clearly with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members
• Report equipment issues promptly so therapy resources remain in good working order

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in good standing with the state licensing board (required)
• Proficient computer skills, including experience with Casamba and PointClickCare (required)
• Ability to meet continuing education requirements per state practices
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate positively and effectively with patients, families, staff, and professional colleagues
• Experience implementing treatment plans and documenting clinical progress (experience level per facility)
• Comfortable training and coaching restorative aides and nursing staff

Education

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (state licensure required)
• Must maintain license in good standing and fulfill continuing education requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient treatment and hands-on rehabilitation techniques
• Clinical documentation and weekly progress note preparation
• Treatment plan implementation and following physician/therapist directives
• Caregiver training and restorative aide coaching
• Equipment maintenance and safe use of therapy resources
