Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy evaluations and create individualized treatment plans for inpatient rehab patients
• Deliver hands-on ADL training and therapeutic interventions to help patients regain independence
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members — nurses, OTs, aides and physicians — to coordinate care
• Document patient progress accurately in the Meditech EMR and communicate changes to the care team
• Adapt treatment approaches and flex schedule as unit needs change, stepping in where the team needs you most
• Participate in unit meetings and contribute ideas to improve patient outcomes and workflows

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist license in the state of Texas (required)
• Basic knowledge of inpatient rehabilitation is required; previous inpatient rehab experience is preferred
• BLS certification (required)
• Comfortable working as part of a team and able to flex to meet unit needs
• Willingness to work a minimum of 2 weekend shifts per 4-week period

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Inpatient rehabilitation workflows and best practices
• ADLs and functional evaluations
• Skilled use of Meditech EMR for documentation
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to prioritize patient treatment time (expect ~5–6 hours of treatment daily)
