Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to identify patient needs and establish treatment goals
• Design and deliver individualized treatment programs using therapeutic exercises and adaptive techniques
• Provide home assessments and recommend adaptive equipment to maximize independence
• Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and timely
• Train patients and families in energy conservation, joint protection, safe transfer techniques and daily living skills
• Administer sensorimotor integration and visual perceptual-motor remediation programs as indicated
• Conduct prevocational training and assist patients returning to or entering the workforce
• Collaborate with schools, nursing homes and community agencies to coordinate patient care and environmental adaptations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy required
• Current valid Washington State Occupational Therapist license required (or actively in process of obtaining)
• One year of clinical experience preferred — new grads are welcome to apply
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with regulatory requirements
• Ability to participate in QI activities and attend department meetings as scheduled
• Professional communication skills for interacting with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams

Education

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in occupational therapy evaluations and treatment planning
• Experience with therapeutic exercises, splinting and adaptive equipment
• Proficient in patient education and home program design
• Knowledge of neurological, orthopedic and balance disorder interventions
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and clinical documentation standards
• Comfortable performing home assessments and community-based recommendations
• Ability to administer sensorimotor integration and visual perceptual-motor remediation
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
