Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to residents in a correctional psychiatric setting
• Observe and document patient behaviors, progress, and safety concerns with accuracy
• Implement care plans and interventions under the direction of clinical staff
• Participate in shift handoffs and communicate critical information to the team
• Support de-escalation and crisis intervention efforts to maintain a safe environment
• Complete required training during the initial two-week orientation and apply learned skills on shift

Qualifications

• Current California Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) credential
• Available for a full-time assignment Wednesday through Sunday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
• Willingness to complete the provided two-week training program
• Professional communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Comfort working in a secure correctional facility environment

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved Psychiatric Technician program and current California LPT licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of psychiatric patient care and behavioral health principles
• Skill in observation, accurate documentation, and reporting
• Crisis intervention and verbal de-escalation techniques
• Team collaboration and clear communication across shifts
• Ability to follow treatment plans and facility protocols
