Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Brooklyn Park, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, evening shift
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
- Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
- Document care provided and observations accurately and timely
- Support a safe and comfortable environment by following infection control and safety policies
- Collaborate with nurses and the care team to deliver consistent, high-quality care
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working with older adults and addressing geriatric needs
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and required health screenings
- Dependable, punctual, and able to travel to the Brooklyn Park facility as scheduled
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of a GNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of geriatric care principles and dignity-focused care
- Skill in assisting with ADLs and safe resident transfers
- Basic vital signs monitoring and observation skills
- Familiarity with infection control practices and safety protocols
- Basic documentation and charting skills, including clear communication with nursing staff
- Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal skills with residents and families
