Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Monitor and report changes in residents’ condition to the nursing team to ensure timely care
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Document care provided accurately and timely to maintain clear resident records
• Create warm, compassionate interactions — provide emotional support and companionship
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Collaborate with nurses and other care team members to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Valid Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification — required
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Excellent communication skills and a caring, patient-centered approach
• Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus but not mandatory

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing assistant duties and elder care best practices
• Comfortable with resident mobility assistance and safe transfer techniques
• Strong observational skills to notice and report changes in resident condition
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safety protocols
• Good time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
• Warm interpersonal skills for working with residents and families
