Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Plant Operations, Environmental Services, and Grounds teams to ensure safe, reliable facility operations
• Supervise approximately 45 FTEs, providing coaching, performance management, and training plans
• Set and enforce clear customer service expectations and follow up on employee and customer concerns promptly
• Oversee preventative maintenance and inspections to keep utility systems, HVAC, boilers, and equipment running reliably
• Direct maintenance activities for continuous supply of heat, steam, power, gas, and medical gases required for patient care
• Ensure contractor compliance with hospital policies and applicable regulatory agencies
• Act as a cross-department liaison to assess needs and develop action plans that support facility operations
• Maintain compliance with NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS and local building and fire codes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum 5+ years of personnel management experience
• Thorough working knowledge of electricity, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, boiler operation, HVAC and general building maintenance
• Experience with autoclaving, bio-waste handling, life safety codes, construction phasing and environmental services operations
• Proven ability to apply engineering principles, diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment or systems
• Willingness to relocate to a rural area

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field preferred

• Facility management and plant operations leadership
• Preventative maintenance planning and execution
• Life safety codes and regulatory compliance (NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS)
• Utility systems oversight (HVAC, boilers, electrical, medical gases)
• Vendor and contractor management
• Staff supervision, training development and personnel management
• Practical trades knowledge: plumbing, carpentry, electrical
