Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality CT and X-ray imaging procedures for diagnostic interpretation
• Practice radiation safety and adhere to ALARA standards at all times
• Verify patient identity using two identifiers and obtain informed consent when required
• Operate imaging equipment and perform manufacturer-recommended quality control
• Document patient history and procedure details accurately and submit required forms to Health Information Management
• Notify radiologist immediately for STAT/emergent cases and provide ordering physician contact info
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and contact service engineers when outside maintenance is needed
• Assist with patient transport, clerical duties, supply inventory, and other department tasks as required
• Train and cross-train imaging staff to support departmental coverage and continuity of care
• Participate in departmental quality improvement and maintain regulatory and infection control compliance

Qualifications

• Registered in at least two modalities (or eligible to obtain two registries within 1 year) — examples: ARRT (R, CT, MR, M, N, S), ARDMS (RDMS, RVT, RDCS, RMSKS), NMTCB
• Current BLS certification (must be obtained within 90 days if not current)
• Prior experience as a practicing technologist in one or more listed modalities preferred (2 years preferred)
• Able to pass background check, drug screen, and breath alcohol test if applicable
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• Flexible, self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and adjust schedule for emergencies
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and teamwork orientation

Education

• Registry certifications as listed (ARRT, ARDMS, NMTCB) — must have two or obtain within 1 year
• BLS certification (current or obtained within 90 days)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care and patient education best practices
• Radiation safety and infection control procedures
• Quality control and basic equipment troubleshooting
• Proficiency with PACS, RIS, HIS and basic Microsoft Office applications
• Familiarity with imaging department protocols and regulatory documentation
• Ability to prioritize STAT cases and communicate effectively with radiologists and ordering physicians
• Cross-training aptitude across CT, X-ray, MRI, DEXA, mammography and sonography as needed
