Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care across the ER float pool, adapting quickly to different unit workflows
• Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and implement evidence-based interventions in urgent situations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using EPIC
• Maintain readiness to float across the assigned 60-mile zone and adjust to differing unit needs
• Participate in orientation and required training to ensure safe practice on assignment
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and staff during high-acuity events

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for practice in Utah (or compact license as applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency Room (ER) nursing
• Current ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications
• ENPC or PALS certification required
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications required
• Proven experience with EPIC charting preferred
• Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain housing that allows floating within a 60-mile zone
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and participate in orientation week

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN not required for this role)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment, triage and critical thinking skills
• Trauma care knowledge and comfort with high-acuity patients
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record
• Adaptability to float between different ER units and workflows
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills under pressure
• Time management and prioritization across multiple simultaneous patient needs
