Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered perioperative nursing care in the operating room
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor their status throughout the perioperative period
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative team members to ensure smooth case flow
• Maintain sterile technique and manage surgical instrumentation and supplies
• Administer medications, therapies, and treatments as ordered and document care accurately
• Verify licenses, certifications, and required health screenings as part of onboarding and ongoing compliance
• Participate in competency testing, skills checklists, and quality improvement efforts
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families about perioperative processes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse licensure with license/certificate verification
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Operating Room (OR) experience or demonstrated perioperative competency
• Completion of required health screenings and immunizations (Fit Test, drug screen, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, PPD/IGRA, physical/health statement)
• Willingness to complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing principles and sterile technique
• Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and operative workflows
• Proficient patient assessment and intraoperative monitoring skills
• Clear, professional communication and teamwork in high-pressure settings
• Accurate documentation skills and comfort with electronic health records
• Ability to follow protocols, safety checklists, and infection control practices
