Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry patients closely and respond promptly to changes in cardiac rhythms
• Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care, including medication administration and wound care
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop and implement individualized care plans
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to coordinate safe, effective patient care
• Document patient status and interventions accurately in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans with compassion
• Serve as an advocate for patient safety and quality improvement on the unit

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (able to practice in Iowa)
• Telemetry nursing experience and solid Medical-Surgical nursing background
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS
• Current and passing license/certificate verification per facility policy
• Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings (PPD/IGRA, MMR, Varicella, Hep B, Influenza, Tdap, COVID-19 as required)
• Ability to complete facility onboarding checks: fit test, drug screen, Trinity-specific competency testing and skills checklist

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Skilled in medical-surgical nursing practices and bedside patient care
• Proficient with vital signs, IV therapy, medication administration, and documentation
• Excellent critical thinking and prioritization in high-acuity situations
• Clear communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and clinical workflows
