Roles & Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting) with compassion and dignity
Take, record, and report vital signs accurately to support clinical decision-making
Perform safe resident transfers and repositioning to prevent falls and pressure injuries
Observe and document skin integrity changes and promptly communicate concerns to nursing staff
Respond promptly to resident calls and address needs in a respectful, person-centered manner
Maintain cleanliness in resident care areas, change linens, and restock necessary supplies
Collect and relay relevant information about resident conditions and care plans to nurses and providers
Support implementation of individualized care plans and contribute to a positive living environment

Qualifications

Current California CNA license (required)
Current CPR certification (required)
Experience in long-term care preferred
Comfort and availability to work night shifts (12-hour shift schedule)
Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)
Ability to work under pressure and collaborate with residents, families, and care teams

Education

Current California Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license
Current CPR certification

Knowledge & Skills

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming
Measuring and documenting vital signs
Safe resident transfers (bed/chair/wheelchair) and turning/repositioning techniques
Skin integrity observation and basic wound awareness
Answering resident calls and prioritizing urgent needs
Maintaining cleanliness, changing sheets, and restocking supplies
Strong interpersonal and communication skills in a long-term care setting
