Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert neonatal respiratory care in the NICU and delivery room, using evidence-based practices
• Manage and troubleshoot ventilators (Drager) and advanced respiratory devices
• Initiate and titrate Bubble CPAP and F&P 850 high flow nasal cannula to support neonatal breathing
• Perform and interpret arterial blood gases and run blood gas analysis to guide therapy
• Perform rare EKGs and monitor cardiac rhythm as part of comprehensive neonatal care
• Assist with intubations and delivery room resuscitation as a skilled team member
• Document patient care accurately and promptly in EPIC
• Respond to standby calls when census is low and collaborate with the NICU team to maintain safe staffing

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) verification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) verification noted where applicable
• Minimum 2 years of neonatal/NICU respiratory therapy experience preferred
• Delivery room and NICU experience with ventilator and bubble CPAP management
• Ability to assist with intubations and respond to urgent neonatal needs
• COVID-19 vaccination required per facility policy
• Active state license and ability to submit required documentation

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in neonatal respiratory care and NICU workflows
• Hands-on experience with Drager ventilators and HFNC systems (F&P 850)
• Proficient with Bubble CPAP therapy and ventilator management
• Skill in arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpretation
• EKG monitoring and basic cardiac rhythm recognition
• Delivery room support and neonatal resuscitation skills
• Familiarity with EPIC charting and documentation standards
• Strong teamwork, communication, and bedside coaching abilities
