Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on, compassionate patient care in an acute care environment
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Measure and record vital signs, intake/output, and other clinical observations accurately
- Document patient status and care delivered in a clear, timely manner
- Support safe patient transfers and positioning while following infection control practices
- Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to promote excellent patient outcomes
- Offer emotional support and clear communication to patients and families during stressful times
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (state of Hawaii preferred)
- Previous acute care experience is a strong plus
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to safely assist with patient transfers and perform physical aspects of care
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited CNA program
- Current CNA certification as required by state regulations
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in basic patient care tasks and monitoring
- Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with bedside charting and basic clinical documentation
- Knowledge of infection control and patient safety best practices
- Good time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced acute setting
- Compassionate bedside manner and clear communication with patients and families
