Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on, compassionate patient care in an acute care environment
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Measure and record vital signs, intake/output, and other clinical observations accurately
• Document patient status and care delivered in a clear, timely manner
• Support safe patient transfers and positioning while following infection control practices
• Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to promote excellent patient outcomes
• Offer emotional support and clear communication to patients and families during stressful times

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (state of Hawaii preferred)
• Previous acute care experience is a strong plus
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to safely assist with patient transfers and perform physical aspects of care
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited CNA program
• Current CNA certification as required by state regulations

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in basic patient care tasks and monitoring
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with bedside charting and basic clinical documentation
• Knowledge of infection control and patient safety best practices
• Good time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced acute setting
• Compassionate bedside manner and clear communication with patients and families
