Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide on-site medical care and injury prevention services for athletes at contracted high schools and events
• Perform injury evaluations, develop rehabilitation plans, and monitor progress to ensure safe return to play
• Assess, manage, and monitor concussions, including supervising graduated return-to-play protocols
• Document treatments, evaluations, and communications clearly and accurately
• Coordinate schedules and coverage for athletic events and after-school activities
• Support occupational health tasks including post-offer employment tests, desk assessments, and functional progress assessments
• Serve as a physician extender in the orthopedic clinic: take histories, assist with scheduling, and educate patients
• Analyze injury causes and recommend prevention strategies to reduce future risks

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology required
• Minimum 1+ years related work experience
• Current Athletic Trainer license in Wisconsin required
• Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers required
• BLS certification required
• Valid, current driver's license required
• Demonstrated accuracy, strong attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology

• Musculoskeletal examination and diagnosis
• Concussion evaluation and management
• Emergency care for athletic injuries
• Injury prevention and rehabilitation practices
• Occupational health assessments (POETs, desk assessments, FPNs)
• Functional progress assessments and post-offer employment testing
• Orthopedic clinic support and patient education
• Strong computer proficiency and documentation skills
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and compassionate bedside manner
• Self-starter with scheduling and coordination abilities
