Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients as an RN or LPN
- Perform thorough assessments and monitor patient condition throughout the shift
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and follow patient care plans
- Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and follow-up
- Respond promptly to changes in patient status and escalate concerns as needed
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the patient record
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (required)
- Active, unrestricted license to practice in Maine (or compact privileges if applicable)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working per-diem shifts and adapting to facility routines
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, diploma, or LPN program)
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Medication administration and safe documentation practices
- Familiarity with infection control and patient safety protocols
- Excellent interpersonal skills for patient/family communication
- Ability to work with electronic medical records and standard clinical charting
