Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care including bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance
• Assist nursing staff with activities of daily living to support resident comfort
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the care team
• Maintain clear, timely documentation to ensure continuity of care
• Support safe transfers and fall prevention practices during each shift
• Engage residents with dignity and respect, fostering a positive environment
• Follow infection control and facility protocols to protect patients and coworkers

Qualifications

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• Current state-required CNA registration or licensure for New Mexico (or ability to obtain)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable assisting with personal care and physical tasks
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work per diem schedule

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and patient hygiene needs
• Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with basic infection control and safety procedures
• Good observational skills to notice and report changes in condition
• Comfortable using electronic or paper charting systems
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents and multidisciplinary teams
