Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes to nursing staff promptly
• Support mealtime, toileting, and personal hygiene needs while preserving resident dignity
• Assist with safe transfers and use of equipment to reduce fall risk
• Maintain clean, safe resident environments and follow infection control protocols
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the care team to promote continuity of care

Qualifications

• GNA certification required (Geriatric Nursing Assistant)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working night shifts and flexible per diem schedule
• Background check and any state-required clearances must be completed
• Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills and a patient, empathetic approach to resident care

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completed GNA program / state GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of ADLs and geriatric care best practices
• Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection control and safe transfer techniques
• Good communication skills for interacting with residents and care teams
• Basic charting and reporting abilities, attention to detail
