Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive adult echocardiography studies, including portable exams and inpatient/ outpatient encounters
• Operate and troubleshoot Philips, GE and Siemens ultrasound systems to acquire diagnostic images
• Execute advanced procedures as needed: bubble studies, pharmacologic and treadmill stress echoes, contrast imaging
• Document all studies accurately in Epic and archive images into PACS for seamless team communication
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing and interdisciplinary teams to support patient care in ICU, ED and acute settings
• Adhere to isolation precautions and PPE protocols to keep patients and staff safe
• Provide clear, professional patient interactions and assist in educating patients about procedures

Qualifications

• ARDMS, RDCS or CCI-RCS required (unit requires one of these credentials)
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 5 years of echocardiography experience
• Travel assignment experience preferred
• Proven experience with Epic charting and PACS image management
• Comfortable performing exams across acuity levels, including ICU and ED settings

Knowledge & Skills

• Adult echocardiography fundamentals: 2-D, M-Mode and 3-D imaging
• Doppler techniques including color Doppler and PISA calculations
• Advanced calculations: Simpson's rule, diastology, LV strain and LV volume assessment
• Stress echo protocols (pharmacologic and treadmill) and bubble studies
• Portable and inpatient study workflow and patient handling
• Familiarity with Philips, GE and Siemens ultrasound platforms
• Working knowledge of Epic and PACS systems
• Infection control practices and PPE use in acute care settings
