Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to patients during overnight hours
• Monitor and document vital signs and patient status accurately and promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and within LPN scope of practice
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers to ensure smooth transitions
• Perform wound care and basic procedures per facility protocol
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to support care plans
• Maintain meticulous documentation in the patient record and report changes in condition
• Respond calmly and effectively to emergent situations and call the team as needed
• Support patient and family education with clarity and empathy

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New Mexico required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained upon hire
• Ability to work overnight 12-hour shifts and provide dependable per-diem coverage
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screening
• Previous LPN experience in a long-term care, rehab, or acute setting preferred
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach

Education

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
• Completion of LPN/Vocational Nursing coursework and clinical training

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of medication administration and documentation practices
• Ability to perform patient assessments and interpret vital sign trends
• Competence with electronic medical records and charting
• Infection control and safe patient handling techniques
• Good time management and prioritization during busy night shifts
• Collaborative teamwork and clear handoff communication
