Shift Type: Rotating (primary day shift) — 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM (day), schedule varies and includes weekend coverage (minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period); day-focused role with occasional flexibility for holidays and unit needs
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care for cardiovascular progressive care (CVPC) patients following unit and hospital protocols
- Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms, intervening promptly and communicating changes to the care team
- Manage cardiac drips and titratable infusions (phenylephrine, dobutamine, milrinone, amiodarone, vasopressors, etc.) safely and accurately
- Perform epidural and chest tube management, tube feedings, and other post-op critical care tasks with attention to detail
- Operate and troubleshoot IV pumps (Baxter) and CADD epidural pumps while ensuring accurate medication administration
- Document thoroughly and efficiently in Cerner EMR to maintain continuity of care
- Collaborate as a team player in a fast-paced environment to optimize patient outcomes and support unit flow
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (required)
- ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience (post-grad) — experience in stepdown/telemetry strongly preferred
- Experience with cardiac surgery or vascular surgery patients within the last year is a plus
- Familiarity with CVICU care and post-operative cardiac monitoring is desirable
- Comfortable using Cerner EMR and Baxter IV pumps / CADD epidural pumps
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Management of titratable cardiac drips and vasoactive medications
- Epidural and chest tube care
- Tube feeding and nutritional support management
- Proficiency with IV pump operation (Baxter) and infusion safety
- Electronic charting experience (Cerner EMR)
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced unit
