Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity trauma and surgical nursing care to spinal, neuro, and surgical patients with skill and compassion
- Perform rapid assessment and triage of critical patients, intervening decisively when seconds count
- Deliver hands-on care for complex cases including gunshot wounds, quadriplegia, and paraplegia
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC to maintain continuity and quality
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care plans
- Maintain and verify required certifications and licensure to ensure unit readiness
- Educate patients and families about condition, treatment plans, and discharge needs with empathy
- Contribute to a culture of safety by following protocols, reporting concerns, and participating in quality improvement
Qualifications
- Active RN license with Nursys verification (must be able to provide verification)
- Minimum 2 years experience in specialty (trauma, surgical, spinal/neuro, or other high-acuity settings)
- BLS required, ACLS preferred
- EPIC experience required; please note EPIC on your profile
- Complete candidate profile including resume with no gaps greater than 60 days, skills checklist, references, certification card, and badge-appropriate photo

- Trauma nursing and surgical nursing best practices
- Spinal and neuro patient care and handling
- High-acuity patient assessment and rapid decision-making
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record documentation
- Strong communication and teamwork in fast-paced environments
- Ability to follow protocols for emergency response and critical care
