Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose movement dysfunction by listening to patients and observing movement
• Develop individualized treatment plans that help patients regain function and reduce pain
• Deliver therapeutic exercises, hands-on manual therapy, and other evidence-based interventions
• Coach and educate patients and families on exercises, safety, and long-term recovery strategies
• Document evaluations, care plans, therapies, and progress in a clear, timely manner
• Report patient status and progress to providers, families, and the patient care team
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary clinicians to coordinate the best possible care
• Maintain professional communication and confidentiality with patients, families, and staff
• Participate in in-services, continuing education, and departmental meetings

Qualifications

• Masters Degree from an accredited physical therapy program
• Current Physical Therapist state license (must be valid for WA practice)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Experience working directly with patients in long term care or hospital settings
• Strong documentation skills and excellent verbal communication
• Team player with the ability to collaborate across disciplines

Education

• Masters Degree from an accredited physical therapy program

Knowledge & Skills

• Assessment and diagnosis of movement dysfunction
• Treatment plan development and rehabilitation planning
• Therapeutic exercise prescription and progression
• Manual therapy techniques and hands-on interventions
• Clear, timely clinical documentation
• Patient education and coaching for self-management
