Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients during the overnight shift
• Assess and monitor patient condition, reporting changes promptly to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per provider orders
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses thoroughly in the chart
• Coordinate with nursing colleagues and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Support admission, transfer, and discharge processes with efficiency and empathy
• Maintain a safe, clean clinical environment and follow infection control practices

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maine
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required
• Clinical experience in acute care or long-term care preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
• Reliable professional demeanor and commitment to patient-centered care
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass facility onboarding/credential checks

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing or Registered Nursing program
• Diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or equivalent as required by licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and vital sign monitoring
• Medication administration and documentation
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate charting
• Time management and prioritization during overnight coverage
• Infection control and safety protocols
• Effective communication with patients, families, and clinical teams
• Basic wound care and assistance with activities of daily living
