Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor and document vital signs and resident condition, reporting changes promptly to nursing staff
• Provide compassionate bedside care and build trusting relationships with residents and families
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
• Communicate clearly and professionally with the care team to ensure coordinated care
• Contribute to care plans through accurate charting and observations

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
• Active New Mexico CNA listing or ability to obtain state listing
• BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility health requirements (immunizations, TB test)
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to work overnight shifts
• Previous long-term care or rehab experience is a plus

Education

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Completed CNA training program and current certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of ADLs and basic patient care techniques
• Comfortable with safe resident transfers and mobility assistance
• Basic competency in taking and recording vital signs
• Good documentation and observational skills
• Infection control best practices and PPE use
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
