Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Progressive Care Unit patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and patient data to detect changes quickly
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment and discharge plans
• Act as an advocate for patient safety, infection control and best practices

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or progressive care/medical-surgical nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Excellent assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
• Ability to work independently on night shift while collaborating with the care team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry and cardiac monitoring skills
• Solid understanding of progressive care protocols and emergency response
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Time management and prioritization in a fast paced environment
• Patient education and family communication skills
