Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry and EKG rhythms to keep patients safe and informed
• Administer medications and IV push meds with bedside rhythm monitoring
• Provide compassionate med-surg nursing care for a mixed acuity trauma and telemetry unit
• Perform unit procedures as appropriate, including small I&Ds and assisting with thoracentesis
• Support peritoneal dialysis care and collaborate with dialysis teams when needed
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Meditech to ensure continuity of care
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and patients’ families

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must meet state requirements for Virginia assignment)
• Minimum 2 years clinical RN experience (Med-Surg/Telemetry preferred)
• BLS and ACLS required
• Proven ability to pass a basic rhythm interpretation test
• Comfortable using Meditech and bedside Carescape monitors
• Positive attitude, high energy, and a patient-focused approach

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry and rhythm interpretation skills
• Experience with med-surg nursing and telemetry patient populations
• Familiarity with EKG monitoring and Carescape monitor systems
• Clinical skills for small procedures and dialysis support
• Proficient documentation in Meditech
• Excellent patient communication and teamwork abilities
