Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional labor and delivery nursing care for high-risk and routine OB patients
• Monitor fetal status using advanced fetal monitoring and intervene appropriately
• Perform immediate newborn care and neonatal resuscitation when needed
• Assist in vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections, and support perioperative obstetric procedures
• Document patient care thoroughly and accurately in Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiology, neonatology, and the multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes
• Operate and troubleshoot unit equipment such as Baxter pumps and Phillips electronic fetal monitors
• Coach and educate patients and families through labor, delivery and postpartum care

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (required)
• Minimum 2+ years of Labor & Delivery (L&D) nursing experience — must have L&D experience to be considered
• Experience with high-risk obstetrics and immediate newborn care
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• BLS/ALS certification required
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
• Comfortable using Cerner EMR and familiar with fetal ink documentation (preferred)
• Circulating experience and perioperative support for C-sections is a plus

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and active RN license (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in fetal monitoring interpretation and interventions
• Skilled in immediate newborn care and neonatal resuscitation techniques
• Experience charting in Cerner EMR and using unit-specific documentation tools
• Comfortable with Baxter infusion pumps and Phillips electronic fetal monitoring systems
• Strong clinical judgment in high-risk obstetric situations
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education skills
• Adaptable and friendly approach under fast-paced and emotionally charged situations
