Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to Med Surg patients with confidence and professionalism
• Assess patients regularly and develop individualized care plans that promote recovery
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following facility protocols and best practices
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to coordinate effective treatment
• Monitor patient status, promptly report changes, and respond to urgent needs
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
• Champion patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives on the unit

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Clinical experience or training in medical-surgical nursing preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to manage multiple patients while delivering compassionate care

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and patient care standards
• Proficiency with electronic health records and documentation best practices
• Medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care skills
• Patient education and discharge planning
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Time management, organization, and clinical decision-making
