Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday rotation; schedule set by manager (may include occasional float assignments)

Candidate Pay Rate: $61 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality Med/Tele and PCU-level nursing care for adult and geriatric patients, especially cardiac and stepdown cases
- Continuously monitor telemetry and interpret ECG/strips to detect and respond to cardiac changes
- Titrate IV drips safely (e.g., Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, low-dose Dopamine) following unit protocols
- Assess and manage patients requiring BiPAP, trach care, and high-flow oxygen support
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — physicians, RTs, techs and charge nurses — to coordinate patient care
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in EPIC and maintain clear, timely communication with the care team
- Prioritize patient safety, infection prevention, and compassionate family communication
- Float to support unit needs when required, maintaining flexibility and teamwork
Qualifications
- Active RN licensure (ND or compact RN license accepted where applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Telemetry or PCU nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Comfort and demonstrated skill titrating drips and interpreting ECG strips
- Experience with telemetry/monitoring systems and cardiac patient care (cardiac cath/EP exposure a plus)
- Familiarity with EPIC charting preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and float as needed; dependable and team-oriented attitude
- BSN not required (ADN or diploma accepted), orientation provided
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Nursing diploma, or BSN
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and ECG/strip interpretation
- IV drip titration and management of common cardiac drips
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) level patient management
- Experience with BiPAP, trach care and high-flow nasal cannula troubleshooting
- Strong assessment, critical thinking and prioritization skills in acute care settings
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record
- Effective interdisciplinary communication and documentation
