Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients across the continuum of acuity
• Perform blood gas analysis and interpret results to guide clinical decisions
• Manage ventilators and noninvasive ventilation settings safely and effectively
• Assess patients' respiratory status and implement individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care, equipment use, and follow-up
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with infection control protocols
• Participate in competency testing and skill validation to ensure best practices

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license (state-appropriate) required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Blood Gas Technologist Certificate required
• Successful completion or willingness to complete Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
• License and certificate verification required prior to start
• Must meet immunization and health screening requirements including COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, TB testing, Varicella, Tdap, fit test, and a minimum 10-panel drug screen
• Willingness to complete a physical/health statement and Prime color-blind test

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong expertise in respiratory therapy and blood gas analysis
• Proficient ventilator management and airway support techniques
• Skilled in patient assessment, care planning, and clinical decision-making
• Familiarity with infection control practices and PPE use
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced settings
• Ability to prioritize, triage, and respond effectively in urgent situations
• Competence with clinical documentation and electronic health records
