Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate basic nursing care to patients while following facility policies
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document promptly
- Assess patient status regularly — take vitals, report changes, and escalate concerns
- Support licensed nurses and interdisciplinary team members during patient care
- Perform procedures within LPN scope and complete competency checklists (Trinity)
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the patient record and during handoffs
- Promote infection prevention practices and participate in fit testing/respirator evaluations
- Assist with patient education and discharge teaching to support positive outcomes
Qualifications
- Current LPN license in good standing (Licensed Practical Nurse)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Successful License/Certificate Verification prior to start
- Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
- Fit Test and Trinity Respirator Evaluation as required by the facility
- Willingness to complete health screenings and immunizations: 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon), MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, Influenza vaccine, and Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen
- Strong communication skills, professional attitude, and dependable work ethic
Education
- Practical Nursing diploma, certificate, or equivalent
- Current LPN licensure required
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid fundamentals in patient assessment, vital signs, and basic nursing interventions
- Medication administration and safe documentation practices
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate charting
- Infection control, PPE use, and respirator protocols
- Ability to follow competency-based skill checklists (Trinity-focused)
- Teamwork, time management, and prioritization in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Professional bedside manner and patient education skills
