Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy evaluation and treatment focused on meaningful ADLs and functional outcomes
• Develop personalized treatment plans and measurable goals in collaboration with patients and interdisciplinary team members
• Implement therapeutic interventions to improve independence, mobility, and safety
• Document progress, discharge planning, and billing-compliant notes in a timely manner
• Educate patients and families on home programs, adaptive equipment, and safe techniques
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, patient-centered care environment

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapist license in South Dakota or eligibility to obtain state licensure promptly
• Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program (OTR/appropriate degree)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills with reliable documentation
• Comfortable working in an outpatient/long-term care/rehab setting (facility will confirm specific site)
• Professional, reliable, and able to start quickly for a 13-week contract

Education

• Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program (Bachelor's, Master's, or OTD as applicable to licensure)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL/IADL assessment and intervention
• Knowledgeable in therapeutic modalities, adaptive equipment, and splinting basics
• Strong clinical reasoning and goal-setting abilities
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Competent documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
