Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered pediatric nursing care in an outpatient clinic setting
• Perform CLIA-waived point-of-care testing accurately and document results in the EMR
• Administer pediatric vaccines according to clinic protocols and maintain accurate immunization records
• Perform gentle, skilled blood draws and phlebotomy for infants, children, and adolescents
• Educate and coach caregivers in both English and Spanish to ensure understanding and adherence
• Document patient encounters thoroughly to support continuity of care and patient safety
• Collaborate with physicians and clinic staff to streamline visits and improve patient flow
• Foster a welcoming, culturally competent environment that supports children and families

Qualifications

• Current RN license to practice in Colorado (required)
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (required)
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
• Minimum 5+ years pediatric clinic or ambulatory outpatient pediatrics experience
• Experience with CLIA-waived testing, pediatric vaccines, and pediatric blood draws
• Proof of current seasonal flu vaccine required (no exemptions accepted)
• Ability to pass standard background and credential checks
• Comfortable using outpatient EMR systems and documenting encounters accurately

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of pediatric growth, development, and immunization schedules
• Skilled in CLIA-waived testing procedures and point-of-care quality control
• Phlebotomy skills for infants, children, and adolescents
• Experience with outpatient EMR documentation and maintaining efficient clinic workflow
• Excellent communication, cultural sensitivity, and teamwork skills
• Ability to educate and coach caregivers effectively in both English and Spanish
