Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Variable days, 4-hour shifts (exact start/end times vary by schedule; Surg Tech shift)

Candidate Pay Rate: $39 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare the operating room and ensure instruments and supplies are sterile and ready
Anticipate the needs of surgeons and the surgical team during procedures
Maintain strict sterile technique and adhere to infection control policies
Assist with surgical setup, positioning, and instrument handling to support positive outcomes
Document instrument counts, supplies used, and assist with turnover between cases
Communicate clearly with team members to promote patient safety and efficient workflow

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent certificate
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred or completion of an approved training program
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtainable upon hire
Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility
Strong attention to sterile technique, patient safety, and teamwork

Education

Certificate or Associate degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited program
High school diploma or GED required

Knowledge & Skills

Thorough knowledge of surgical instruments, trays, and sterile processing
Proven sterile technique and operating room protocols
Comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical environment
Clear communication and collaboration with surgical team members
Basic familiarity with documentation and perioperative workflows
