Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 10-hour day shifts with varied starts between 6:00 AM - 9:00 AM; call included (1 shift per week) with coverage approximately every 4th weekend; no evenings or regular weekends

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, instruments, and equipment so every case starts smoothly
• Assist the surgical team as a scrub tech, maintaining strict sterile technique throughout procedures
• Handle and pass surgical instruments accurately and proactively during cases
• Document procedures and chart in Cerner Surginet to ensure accurate patient records
• Follow unit-specific OR processes and safety protocols to protect patients and staff
• Partner with circulating nurses and anesthesia teams to coordinate efficient case flow
• Participate in orientation and training with a preceptor to quickly become a confident team member

Qualifications

• BLS certification required
• COVID-19 vaccination required
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience
• Cerner Surginet experience strongly preferred
• Ability to scrub is a plus and preferred for many cases
• Experience with orthopedic cases preferred; experience with cardiovascular and robotic cases preferred for select teams
• Comfort working day shifts with on-call responsibilities

Knowledge & Skills

• Operating Room procedures and workflow
• Scrub and sterile technique
• Surgical instrument handling and setup
• Cerner Surginet charting and EMR familiarity
• Experience with orthopedic, spine, general, gynecology, urology, and ENT cases
• Strong communication and teamwork in a high-acuity OR setting
• Adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols
