Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate organizational security and emergency preparedness posture, identifying gaps and practical improvements
• Develop, update, and implement emergency preparedness plans, policies, and procedures tailored to stakeholder needs
• Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment during exercises and incidents
• Design and deliver training, tabletop exercises, and drills to strengthen readiness across teams
• Support incident response activities and after-action reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement
• Prepare clear, actionable reports and brief leadership on risks, recommended mitigations, and status updates

Qualifications

• Proven experience in emergency preparedness, security consulting, business continuity, or a related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience briefing leadership and stakeholders
• Familiarity with incident response, risk assessment methodologies, and preparedness planning
• Certifications such as Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), CISSP, or related credentials are a plus
• Comfort working in a hybrid environment and coordinating across multiple teams
• Ability to manage priorities on a 12-month contract and deliver high-quality outcomes

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Public Safety, Business Continuity, or a related field preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of emergency preparedness frameworks, response planning, and exercise design
• Skills in risk assessment, business impact analysis, and mitigation planning
• Experience with stakeholder engagement and cross-functional coordination
• Strong documentation, reporting, and presentation skills
• Familiarity with relevant regulations, best practices, and continuity planning concepts
• Analytical mindset with the ability to translate findings into practical actions
