Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality respiratory care and therapies to patients with compassion and attention
Operate, manage, and troubleshoot ventilators and respiratory equipment safely
Perform respiratory assessments and document findings clearly in the medical record
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
Provide patient and family education on respiratory techniques, equipment use, and safety
Participate in orientation and training activities to stay current with best practices

Qualifications

Current Missouri Respiratory Care Practitioner license or eligibility to obtain one
NBRC credential (RRT or CRT) preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS or PALS a plus
Clinical respiratory therapy experience preferred (e.g., 1+ year preferred)
Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team-focused environment
Ability to pass background check and required pre-employment screenings

Education

Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Mechanical ventilation management and ventilator troubleshooting
Arterial blood gas collection and interpretation
Airway management, oxygen therapy, and suctioning techniques
Effective patient education and bedside communication
Proficient clinical documentation in electronic medical records
