Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients across acuity levels with professionalism and compassion
• Manage ventilators and advanced airway support, adjusting therapy according to patient response
• Perform assessments and diagnostic testing such as ABGs and oxygenation/ventilation evaluations
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
• Document all assessments, interventions, and progress accurately in the medical record
• Respond promptly to emergent situations and assist in codes when needed
• Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments, equipment use, and home care plans

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license for Georgia (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• NBRC credential (CRT or RRT) required or preferred as specified by facility
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or as required by unit
• Comfortable with ventilator management and advanced respiratory modalities
• Strong clinical judgement, communication skills, and a team-player attitude
• Ability to work 12+ hour shifts and adapt to unit staffing needs

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field preferred
• NBRC certification (CRT/RRT) and relevant state licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in ventilator management and respiratory equipment
• Skilled in arterial blood gas interpretation and oxygen therapy modalities
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Competent documentation in electronic medical records
• Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities
