Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to pediatric patients, using evidence-based interventions
• Administer and monitor respiratory therapies and equipment, including oxygen delivery and aerosol treatments
• Assess patient respiratory status and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to create and follow care plans
• Educate families and caregivers on respiratory treatments, home care, and equipment use
• Accurately document treatments, patient responses, and equipment settings in the medical record
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain pediatric competency and safety

Qualifications

• Current state Respiratory Therapist license or eligibility to obtain licensure in Ohio
• CRT or RRT credential preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; pediatric certifications a plus
• Experience in pediatric respiratory care preferred but new grads with strong pediatric interest encouraged
• Ability to pass required background checks and immunization verification

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of pediatric respiratory conditions and developmental considerations
• Familiarity with ventilators, non-invasive support, and airway management
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
• Comfortable communicating clearly and compassionately with children and families
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented pediatric environment
