Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory therapy services as prescribed by provider orders, helping patients breathe easier and recover faster
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment and ventilators safely and effectively
• Document all patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in Epic
• Prepare and administer respiratory-related medications and coordinate with Pyxis for secure medication management
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments, disease management, and home care as needed
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and departmental policies to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) — REQUIRED (MUST HAVE RRT, NOT CRT)
• Active Ohio RCP license required prior to start
• BLS (American Heart Association) required prior to start
• Ability to work evening shifts and cover every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
• Able to sit/stand for extended periods, perform finger dexterity tasks, and lift up to 25 pounds when needed
• Comfortable with exposure to communicable diseases/body fluids and following proper infection control practices

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong respiratory therapy clinical skills (ventilator management, airway care, aerosol therapy)
• Experience using Epic for documentation and charting
• Familiarity with Pyxis and other networked applications
• Clear patient communication and education skills
• Infection control best practices and safe handling of clinical equipment
• Good clinical judgment, teamwork, and adaptability in a hospital setting
