Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer cardiopulmonary treatments and therapies per physician orders to improve patient outcomes
• Manage ventilators and perform advanced respiratory modalities with precision and safety
• Perform diagnostic cardiopulmonary procedures such as EKGs, stress tests, Holter and event monitors, and EEGs
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses accurately in the medical record (Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred)
• Cross-train on the cardio side to provide flexible, high-quality coverage across the department
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and allied health staff to coordinate patient care plans
• Respond to emergencies and support rapid, effective interventions as part of the care team
• Participate in orientation and unit processes to maintain compliance with hospital standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential — NBRC RRT certification required
• Massachusetts Registered Respiratory Therapist license in hand at upload (client will not pend licensure)
• Minimum 5 years current RRT experience (required)
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification (required)
• Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required)
• Ability and willingness to cross-train in EKG, stress testing, Holter/event monitors and EEGs
• Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred
• Traveler-specific requirements: must have your own vehicle; facility will not consider travelers who reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Provide 1 supervisory signed reference from within the past two years of employment
• Include perm address, complete work history, skills checklist and any requested time-off at profile upload (RTO requests after upload/interview will not be approved; no more than 5 days RTO accepted)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong cardiopulmonary assessment and clinical decision-making
• Ventilator management and arterial blood gas interpretation
• Proficiency with EKGs, stress testing, Holter/event monitors and basic EEGs
• Familiarity with Meditech Expanse or similar EMR systems for clean, timely documentation
• Excellent communication, teamwork and patient-family education skills
• Ability to follow physician orders accurately and work autonomously when needed
• Time management and adaptability in a rotating schedule environment
• Commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance
