Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity trauma and surgical nursing care to spinal, neuro, and surgical patients with skill and compassion
• Perform rapid assessment and triage of critical patients, intervening decisively when seconds count
• Deliver hands-on care for complex cases including gunshot wounds, quadriplegia, and paraplegia
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC to maintain continuity and quality
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care plans
• Maintain and verify required certifications and licensure to ensure unit readiness
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment plans, and discharge needs with empathy
• Contribute to a culture of safety by following protocols, reporting concerns, and participating in quality improvement

Qualifications

• Active RN license with Nursys verification (must be able to provide verification)
• Minimum 2 years experience in specialty (trauma, surgical, spinal/neuro, or other high-acuity settings)
• BLS required, ACLS preferred
• EPIC experience required; please note EPIC on your profile
• Complete candidate profile including resume with no gaps greater than 60 days, skills checklist, references, certification card, and badge-appropriate photo

• Trauma nursing and surgical nursing best practices
• Spinal and neuro patient care and handling
• High-acuity patient assessment and rapid decision-making
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record documentation
• Strong communication and teamwork in fast-paced environments
• Ability to follow protocols for emergency response and critical care
