Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry continuously and promptly recognize and respond to cardiac changes
• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to acutely ill patients on the telemetry unit
• Administer medications and treatments according to orders and hospital policy
• Collaborate closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Perform thorough assessments, document findings accurately in the medical record, and escalate concerns
• Provide patient and family education about condition, medications, and post-discharge care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky or multistate compact RN licensure
• Experience working on a telemetry unit or with continuous cardiac monitoring
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Current clinical competency in medication administration, IV therapy, and patient assessment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively on a fast-paced team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Acute patient assessment and prioritization
• Safe medication administration and IV pump management
• Accurate and timely electronic health record documentation
• Effective teamwork, communication, and patient-centered care
