Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough head-to-toe assessments and document findings clearly each shift
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and promptly recognize and act on dysrhythmias
- Administer medications safely, including IV drips (insulin, heparin, diltiazem) and manage blood/antibiotic administration for MS/Tele patients
- Prioritize and manage acuity-based assignments (typical RN:patient ratios 5:1, higher acuity PCU 3:1 or 4:1)
- Provide hourly rounding, pain and Braden/fall assessments, and situational patient education
- Work independently on a small rural unit and hit the ground running while collaborating with the care team
- Communicate professionally with facility leadership and follow requested submission and scheduling protocols
Qualifications
- Active New Hampshire RN license or Compact RN license (must be uploaded with profile)
- American Heart Association BLS (current) required
- American Heart Association ACLS (current) required
- Minimum 3+ years clinical experience across PCU, Med/Surg and Telemetry (required)
- Telemetry experience and basic dysrhythmia competency (documentation/test required in profile)
- One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years
- Current skills checklists for Medical/Surgical, Telemetry and Progressive Care pertinent to the position (within 1 year)
- Own vehicle for assignment travel and permanent address included in profile
- Previous travel experience, rural/small facility experience, and documented drip experience are highly preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
- Dysrhythmia recognition and response
- IV medication administration and drip management (insulin, heparin, diltiazem)
- Blood administration and IV antibiotic management
- Head-to-toe assessment and focused shift-based evaluations
- Acuity-based patient assignment and time management in a small unit
- Strong clinical documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a rural setting and collaborate with limited onsite resources
