Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled Phase I and Phase II PACU care, ensuring safe, effective recovery after anesthesia
• Monitor cardiac status continuously and manage cardiac monitoring equipment
• Manage arterial lines and recognize and intervene for dysrhythmias promptly
• Care for ventilated patients and collaborate with respiratory therapy for optimal respiratory support
• Oversee perioperative and surgery case management from immediate post-op through discharge
• Float to ASC, HH, and PVH as needed to support unit staffing and patient care
• Perform and support pre and post procedural regional blocks as part of the perioperative team
• Communicate clearly with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the interdisciplinary team to promote excellent patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient acute PACU experience (hard stop)
• Travel nursing experience required; first time travelers not accepted for this role
• BLS and ACLS highly recommended; CCRN and CPAN preferred; PALS a plus
• Comfortable with arterial line management, cardiac monitoring, ventilator care and dysrhythmia recognition
• Ability and willingness to float to ASC, HH and PVH
• Experience in Level I or Level II trauma center settings preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in PACU care (Phase I and Phase II)
• Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition skills
• Proficient in arterial line management and care of ventilated patients
• Familiar with a broad range of surgical cases including robotics, vascular and general surgery
• Comfortable working in high-acuity, fast-paced perioperative environments
• Team-oriented communication and strong documentation skills
