Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate nursing care to oncology and PCU patients in a 28-bed mixed unit
Administer chemotherapy and monitor for side effects, titrate IV drips as needed
Manage complex medical-surgical patients with a focus on trauma and oncology
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including PT/OT, case managers, and social workers
Float to MedSurg and PCU units as required, ensuring consistent quality care
Perform hourly rounding and patient education to enhance the patient experience

Qualifications

Current RN license in Nebraska or compact state (NLC) required
BLS and ACLS certifications required
ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification required
Minimum 1 year of PCU and oncology experience
Willing to take an open-book exam during orientation and pass with 90%
Open to first-time travelers
Driver's license required at submittal to verify residency outside 50-mile radius

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in EPIC electronic medical record system
Experience with Alaris IV pumps
Knowledge of ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan-Ganz)
Strong oncology and medical-surgical nursing skills
Ability to titrate drips such as insulin and Cardizem
Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to help others
