Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating shifts: Days 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or Nights 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, with every other weekend and negotiable holidays.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical patients, including those with CHF, diabetic complications, pneumonia, COPD, hip fractures, COVID-19, and post-op surgical cases.
Monitor and manage titratable drips such as Heparin and Bumex infrequently.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including CNAs, charge nurses, and house supervisors to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes.
Float as a helping hand or fully cross-train to other units as needed.
Communicate effectively with telemetry monitoring staff and respond to patient needs within 30 minutes if placed on low census.

Qualifications

Valid Oregon RN license (or ability to obtain OR 90-day emergency license at time of submittal)
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
Previous Med/Surg experience preferred, including general medical-surgical and pediatric care

Knowledge & Skills

General medical-surgical nursing care
Pediatric care experience
Telemetry monitoring and strip reading (with support from CCU staff)
Titrating IV drips (Heparin, Bumex) infrequently
Post-operative care for TURPs, hip/knee replacements, cholecystectomy, appendectomy
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
Team collaboration and adaptability to float
