Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based neuro critical care to adult patients in the Neuro ICU
• Perform thorough neuro and hemodynamic assessments and intervene appropriately
• Manage ventilators, advanced monitoring, and life-support devices with precision
• Collaborate daily with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Document clinical findings and care plans accurately and timely in the medical record
• Respond quickly and calmly to emergencies and changes in patient status
• Mentor and support colleagues to promote a culture of continuous learning and safety

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Louisiana or ability to obtain state licensure promptly
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (or ability to obtain upon hire)
• Experience in critical care nursing, preferably Neuro ICU or similar high-acuity ICU
• Comfort and competence working 12-hour night shifts
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Neurocritical assessment and focused neurological exams
• Ventilator management and ventilator weaning protocols
• Hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication administration
• Familiarity with ICU workflows, alarms, and rapid response procedures
• Patient/family education and compassionate bedside communication
• Accurate electronic charting and adherence to unit policies
